How The Auction Works

Ready to score a great deal on a used car at the VOAMI Auto Auction? Read below to make sure you understand the process and requirements for purchasing a vehicle from the auction so you can be prepared when you arrive at the auction site, located at 618 East Walton, Pontiac, MI 48340. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Going Once

On auction day, attendees can preview the vehicles up for auction between 8:30am-9:45am. If there is a vehicle you are interested in, make sure to arrive early before the auction begins at 10am so you have time to check it out because this is the only time to look at the cars before they go on the block!

Going Twice

Once the auction starts at 10am, it’s time to make a bid – the minimum starting bid is only $250. If your bid wins, you’ll be required to pay a $200 non-refundable cash deposit to claim your vehicle ($500 for bids of $4000 or more), and will be expected to pay for the remainder of the vehicle immediately following the auction.

Sold!

Once the auction concludes, it’s time to complete the purchase of your vehicle. To officially take ownership of your vehicle and be able to take it home, you MUST:

  • Have a valid Driver’s License or State I.D.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have provided $200 in cash for a non-refundable deposit. If the bid on the vehicle is $4000 or more, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required.
  • Be able to remove the vehicle from VOA property the following business day after the auction.
  • Be able to pay for the remainder of the vehicle immediately after the auction. The purchaser will pay the amount bid on the vehicle plus a $100 document fee. Additionally, a $15 title fee and 6% sales tax must be paid, unless the purchaser is a licensed auto dealer. If the purchaser chooses to buy or transfer plates for the car, he or she must have proof of insurance on that vehicle. The plate purchase or transfer must be done on the same day as the auction.
